CARPET WORKS This 'scourtin' making works was established in 1882. Until 1956 this is where filters for oil and wine presses were made. However, when the olive trees were frozen in an unusually cold winter, production was switched to carpet manufacture.
Coconut fibre continued to be used and colour was introduced. The carpets range from 15cms to 3.50m in diameter (12 colours and 40 sizes). Open year round. Closed on Sundays. Guided tours for groups on reservation.
