Environmentally-friendly vine-growing, no pesticides. Vins de pays de la Drôme, sweet, semi-dry and dry white wines, fruity rosé. Syrah red, cuvé de prestige 60-year-old vines and AOP St Joseph red. HVE 3 certified estate

Since 1872, 5 generations of the Rousset family, from father to son, have perpetuated their passion for the family vineyard, Domaine de Château Vieux, in an environmentally-friendly way.

At the beginning of the 20th century, the vineyard covered almost 20 hectares, with 2 grape varieties: Syrah for the reds and Marsanne for the whites. My great-grandparents and grandparents only produced bulk wine, in response to a strong demand for wine at low prices and in large quantities.

It was in the 70s that the decision was taken to reduce the size of the estate, as customer demand was reversing and we had to offer quality above all else.

The soil is worked mechanically (tractor) or manually (pickaxe). No chemical weedkillers or insecticides are used in our vineyards. Vinification is natural. The indigenous yeasts (from the grapes) work to produce a wine that is as natural as possible. No chemical yeast is added to the vinification process. Dosages of sulfites (preservatives) are kept as low as possible. An estate on the slopes of Triors, with sandy soil, allowing the vines to flourish in total serenity.
Today, the vineyard covers 10 hectares of vin de pays and 2.5 hectares of AOC Saint-Joseph.

Available in the following stores:
La Ferme du Coin (Chatuzange-le-Goubet)
Au Primeur de Chantre (Valence)
La Ferme Maubourg (Valence)
Le Tournay (Margès), Inter Fruit.
