Heritage walk

Ce circuit à travers les ruelles pittoresques de Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux vous permettra de flâner tout en découvrant murs d’enceinte, fontaines, lavoirs et monuments classés ainsi qu’une partie de la Promenade des Jardins également appelée Coulée Verte.

Set off from the Office de Tourisme, turning left along Le Courreau. Go straight, then turn right beneath the small arch of the covered way.
Turn into the first street on the right (Bonne Rue) and carry on to the Place de l’Esplan. Bear left, along the one-way street against the traffic flow.
Go down to the left, to the Place des Arts, then turn right for the market square, the Place du Marché.
Along the Grande Rue, bear left twice and go straight on to the Rue Notre-Dame.
Turn right and enter the covered way.
Turn right and take the short downhill section of road, go along the walls and pass the medieval gate of the Grande Fontaine.
Bear right and go over the pedestrian crossing in front of the "Entre 2" restaurant.
At the corner of the restaurant, turn right into the Avenue Charles Chausy and carry on until the pedestrian crossing.
Turn right onto the pedestrian route and follow it as far as the road, cross over and carry on in the direction of the sports/fitness area.
Continue straight on, then turn right into the narrow street, and right again (Passage Alphonse Daudet).
Take the Passage Resseguin on the left as far as the road. Turn right, then, at the roundabout, cross to the left and follow the walls.
At the end, turn into the small passage on the left, then left again and go back up to the square.
Continue to the Place du Marché and at the top turn left and carry on to the Hôtel de Ville or town hall.
Go down the steps* on the left and carry straight on.
Bear right after the cathedral and go along past the grilles on the left of the terrace to the Rue de l’Hôpital. Then take the narrow street on the right. Turn immediately left into the Rue Saint-Estève**.
Go up the steps** on the right, and then down the Rue de l’Evêché on the right. Turn left into the Rue du Serf, then left into the passage and carry on to the Rue Montant au Château.
Just before the lavoir (the communal laundry or wash-house), turn left into the Rue d’Aiguebelle and go down to the square.
Turn left in front of the fountain, and return to your start point.

To avoid the steps:
*Go via the Rue de l’Église located at the bottom of the Place du Marché
** take the Rue du Portail Fanjoux on the right, then the Rue de l’Evêché on the left, to the Rue du Serf.
