You are about to discover LES VILLAGES BOTANIQUES ®, a unique label , specially created in the département by the ‘Fédération Régionale des Centres d’initiatives pour valoriser l’agriculture et le milieu rural (CIVAM)’.
The 10 Botanical Villages ® of the Drôme have signed up to a common charter requiring: a population of under or around 3500, the choice of a specific botanical theme (a minimum of 150 species or varieties on the site). These plants should be labelled and described on technical listings made available to visitors.
The mild climate and the low humidity of the air mean that the Drôme is the number 1 French producer of aromatic, medicinal and aromatic plants. This unique concentration of aromas is only too apparent in the Botanical Villages ®.
These labelled villages are : Albon, Barnave, Chabrillan, Châtillon-en-Diois, Grignan, Hauterives, La Chapelle-en-Vercors, Manas, Montélier, Montvendre.
