During a weekend around Nyons, you will discover everything about olives and vine.

The highlights of your stay:

• Visit of a vineyard and wine tasting
• Visit of a traditionnal filter factory, unique in France !
• Visit of a handmade vinegar factory
• Rustic picnic
• Local dinner at a restaurant
• Night in a 3-star hotel with breakfast

DAY 1:

10:00am : Welcome to the tourist office of Nyons
You will receive your travel guide, indispensable element for your stay.

11h00 : Visit of the vineyard « Domaine du Rieu Frais », wine tasting and rustic picnic, in Ste Jalle (18km)
You will discover throughout the visit, authentic and organic wines. You will learn about winemaking, livestock barrels and oak casks. The visit will end with wine tasting and a rustic picnic with local products.

2:30pm : Visit of the "Scourtinerie", in Nyons (16,8km)
Established in 1882, this factory makes "scourtin", a provençal word for filter of olive oil made with coconut fibre. Nowadays, we can visit the old workshop where they still produce "scourtin" for olive and wine industries, and also coloured carpets and tablemats.

3:30pm : Guided tour of the handmade vinegar factory « La Para », in Nyons (550m)
You will discover all the secrets of vinegar. Its origin, production and use. Raphaël Delaye Reynaud flavors the good "Côtes du Rhône" wines with local aromatic plants. These wines slowly turn into vinegar. Tasting after the visit.

From 5:00pm : Welcome to your 3-star hotel « La Bastide des Monges » in Nyons (4,5kms)
Agathe and Thomas welcome you in our Provencal farmhouse. 10 well decorated bedrooms, a nice restaurant room and its patio surrounded by nature. Heated swimming-pool.

7.30pm : Gourmet and local dinner at the restaurant "La Charrette Bleue", in Condorcet (12km)
This restaurant is an ancient coaching inn, selected by the Michelin Guide (Bib Gourmand). Everything is home made with fresh local products. The cuisine is semi-gastronomique, local and creative. Menu: aperitif, starter, main course, cheese or dessert (drinks not included).


DAY 2:

From 8:30am to 9:30am : Breakfast

10:00am : "Olive trees trail", in Nyons (4,5km)
(maps in your travel guide, easy trail, 2h, 3,5km).
Discover this mythic tree at the heart of an exceptional land of production. On this hiking trail you will find panels which deliver all the secrets of this legendary tree...

End of your stay.
