Taulignan used to be a major silk-milling center in the Drôme, so don't miss a visit to its Silk Museum. You can also discover Taulignan's A.O.C. Côtes du Rhône vineyards, and stroll near lavender fields (from May or June to early July) and truffle oaks (from November to March, to find truffles at local markets, notably St Paul 3 Châteaux). You can get a bit of height by visiting Grignan, classified as one of France's most beautiful villages, and its famous château, where Mme de Sévigné lived, just 10 minutes away.
