La Motte-Chalancon is a charming, lively village in the Parc naturel des Baronnies Provençales. Overlooking the Oule valley, it's a pleasant place to stroll through its narrow streets, with their many shops and terraces (delicatessen, local producers' store, bar, bakery, fitness center, restaurants, pizza truck, potter...). Provencal market on Mondays, free municipal swimming pool in summer, tennis, volleyball and pétanque courts, concerts and open-air cinema in season. You'll be between the Diois and Baronnies Provençales, 10 min from the Hautes-Alpes. Cornillon-sur-l'Oule and the Pas des Ondes lake (swimming, pedal-boating, fishing....) are 5 minutes away. There's also a Bistrot de Pays. Nearby: climbing, via ferrata (Pas de l'Echelle), canoeing, hiking (mid-mountain peaks), marked bike and mountain bike trails. And don't forget to watch the vultures that colonize the most beautiful cliffs in the Baronnies, including the Cairo rock at Rémuzat, 10 min away.
